On September 30, the lady golfers at Lake Valley in Boulder will do it again – put our hearts, souls, time and every bit of energy we can muster into the third annual Maji Safi Golf-a-thon to raise money for disease prevention, health education and women’s empowerment in rural Tanzania!
Every day, Maji Safi Group’s tireless and dedicated Community Health Workers teach in homes, schools, and markets, run sports and community events, conduct health screens, etc. to empower the local population to live healthier lives. With your generous support, we can raise the money to help this beautiful work continue.
Join the Maji Safi Group (MSG) for a informative conversation about the global water, sanitation and hygiene crisis and learn about our Community Health Educator model that makes disease prevention education fun. MSG believes that by putting women at the center of driving public health changes, communities will change their habits and reduce the disease burdens put on future generations.
We will start with cocktails, some light food, and a presentation about the global water situation. Afterwards we will do an alcohol ink art class with instructor Elaine Riley. We will provide all materials but you may want to bring an apron. We will create our gorgeous pieces of art on ceramic tiles and paper. However, alcohol ink art can be done on any kind of nonporous surface, such as class or white porcelain cups, plates, bowls, etc. If you would like to decorate items other than tile, please bring some from home.
Warning: Be prepared to fall in love with this art technique!
